In the past month, we’ve been seeing a lot of our dangerous friends around the property, which is not common. We usually see them once in a while but in the last couple weeks almost every day!! It’s normal for us to see snakes, scorpions but seeing tarantulas and centipedes isn’t as common. We’ve never seen a tarantula until last week. Last week a team of builders came and while they were working they caught some tarantulas. It was our first time seeing a tarantula, after this picture they found some more.
…Sometimes it is hard for me to do the same work over and over. But our girls are a great encouragement for me: for two weeks of their school break they were sorting rice almost every day! When they were behind on their goals, others helped them out!:)))
A continuation from my previous post about our dangerous friends continues! It’s quite funny that the next day right after posting about snakes, scorpions, and centipedes I almost saw them ALL in one day!
“Girls, are you afraid of being stuck here, in Thailand for the next ten years?” Some people asked us. “As long as its Gods will, we would be happy to be “stuck” here! There is nothing more exciting than seeing God’s hand in everything here! He gives us the vision, calls the right people, brings us together and accomplishes His work through us.
“He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge…” Psalm 91:4
It is Monday evening and the white clunky car drives into Avoda, full of chattery, happy kids. One by one they pile out of the back, eager to learn and play. Three times a week, after a long day of studying in school, the Burmese and Thai children come from the village to learn English. No matter the nationality, their plights are similar. Broken families, damaged lives, hearts longing for healing. Avoda is a safety haven for most of the children. A place where under Gods mighty wings they find His love and care. Where sullen faces brighten and laughter sounds. It is a place where they can stay away from the troubles in their home, for a bit longer. We are privileged to see the positive changes that have been happening in the lives of these children. Praise the Lord they keep on coming!
After a year of service in Thailand, an opportunity to visit the project up North finally arrived. My purpose for going to Chiang Rai was to get to know the project and students involved. The ride was nine hours and the scenery….very picturesque! It is a green and mountainous region, where most of the fruit in Thailand comes from. Pomello’s, strawberries, mangosteen, mango, papaya, longon and many many more varieties. The weather was a bit cooler and the air, crisper.
Fall is not an official season here in Thailand but it sure looks like it. They just call it winter.
I was looking at previous pictures of Thailand and saw the beautiful bright and green pictures of trees, flowers, bushes. Now everything is orange and brown, fall is actually happening here in Thailand, I only realized after looking at the before pictures. It’s very beautiful here, I especially like it when it’s windy, such a nice breeze, just taking a walk and while leaves all around you fall.
Have you ever thanked God, for being born in a christian family?
Being blessed by your parents, hearing your name in their prayers, seeing God’s protection on you…from your childhood?
You can’t imagine from the kind of life God really protected you!
Grace,Peace,Joy -instead of fear, grief and hopelessness.
It is a big blessing to see how God is using simple people with a small gift and multiplies it for HIS glory. When I was in US two weeks ago, there was a 10 years girl, who donated five of her own dollars to our children here.Would you like to be a witness how much joy it brought to the children, and how was it contributed in the life of little ones.
Her donation was able to purchase ice-cream for 68 children! how happy they all were to eat something so cool and delicious on such a hot day! This is God’s care shown through little girl.
Praise God for such a precious heart!
